UniFi Dream Router Configuration Guide:

After unboxing set up by following the below:

  1. Connect WAN Port (Internet icon) to an access port in our office.

  2. Download “UniFi Network” Application for iOS or Android.

  3. Once installed, open the application and tap the “+” icon or “Set Up a New Device.

  4. Follow the on screen instruction for the rest of the configuration. If prompted to name the device, then name it unit number and trading name.. i.e “Unit M195 - Wing lab LTD”

  5. When prompted, name the SSID the same as the trading name.

  6. If you are prompted to sign in with a UniFi account, then make sure to use the below account:

    [email protected] (password is located in 1Pass)

  7. Go to https://unifi.ui.com and sign in with the details that are located in 1Pass, make sure that you can access the UniFi Dream Router from this account.

Post-initial configuration steps:

  1. Go back to https://unifi.ui.com and sign back in with the details located in 1Pass, once signed in you should see a window similar to the one below:

  2. Click on the Dream Router in question, do not click the “Access Point” or the “Camera” icons underneath the Dream Router, just click the Dream Router itself.
  3. You should then see the below page appear, make sure the update schedule is configured as per below:
  4. Navigate to “Console Settings” then under “Console Name”, input Unit Number + Trading Name, like below:
  5. Click on the “U” icon on the top left of the page. Then click on the “Access Point” icon underneath the Dream Router you’re configuring.
  6. Then click on the “gear”/”settings” icon towards the bottom left side of the screen. You should see a screen similar to the below:
  7. You should have already been prompted to create a WiFi network, but if you weren’t then click on “Create new WiFi”. For the SSID type in their trading name, and choose a strong password.
  8. Settings should be configured as per below and almost identical to default settings:

  9. Next, click on “Networks” on the left-hand side and make sure the “default” network is configured as per below:
  10. Next, click on “Internet” on the left-hand side and click on WAN1, change the name of the WAN port to be whatever its connected switch and switchport will be.
  11. Navigate to “System” then “Updates” then untick the below:
